A little bit about me...

I am a second degree seeking student at the University of South Alabama. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from 2003. I am currently seeking a second Bachelors, senior status, in Special Education. My desire to seek a second degree is to assure each child has an advocate and to become more involved with the needs of my own special needs six year old boy. I have been in the Alabama Educational System since 2003. I taught one year in Conecuh County at Lyeffion Jr. High School under the administration of Diana Lyons, 2003-2004. I taught one year in the Monroe County School System at Monroeville Junior High under the administration of Lana Wilson, 2004-2005. I am currently in the Mobile County System and have been since 2007. I currently work under Title 1 and currently under the administration of Joe Toomey.

My Desire to Teach

Often there are too many teachers and not enough educators. No two children will learn in the same manner. Children are a sponge of this world. All of that which is negative and positive will intake to each child. As a educator, my goal is to make a lasting impression in the school system and move beyond teaching. One must appeal to the diversity of a school system and a classroom. One must also account for the difference in gender and race. Depending on the race, that will adequately give one an impression of the academic environment of which each student is driven. Once an teacher steps into the place of educator, one will exude a passion that will take the classroom teacher outside of a job and into her profession. I speak with power and conviction because these are my efforts in my profession within the educational system. Today, educational curriculum is vague and unless their are educators present to slice through this vague curriculum and assure that it appeals to the variety of children within a classroom then the past with continuously repeat. Today, there are too many children uneducated and unmotivated. Teachers lack the potential to appeal to each student within the classroom while assuring to embrace their individual talent. As an "educator" I will strive to seek my students personal learning style whether it is visual, tactile, or auditory. Regardless of each student's learning technique; it is my job to assure the curriculum measures to individual needs. In conclusion, I will assure my students have a clear understanding of self and potential of the intelligence trapped within. "Every child can learn and it is my duty to educate, accordingly."
